Google Cast and YouTube: Transforming Rivian Driving Experience

Rivian has enhanced its R1S SUV and R1T pickup truck with a significant software update, introducing a native YouTube app, Google Cast functionality, and SiriusXM integration. These features are accessible through the Rivian Connect+ service, which is available for a monthly fee of $14.99 or an annual subscription of $149.99. All Rivian owners can enjoy a temporary preview of these services.

Key Features:

  • YouTube App: Owners can now stream YouTube videos directly on their vehicle's center screen while parked.
  • Google Cast: This functionality allows users to cast content from supported apps, such as Disney+ and Max, to the vehicle's display. However, casting from Netflix is currently unavailable.
  • SiriusXM Integration: The SiriusXM app enables access to a wide range of radio channels, including ad-free music, live sports, news, and entertainment programming.

These updates aim to enhance the in-vehicle entertainment experience, providing Rivian owners with a more connected and enjoyable journey.
