8BitDo has introduced the Ultimate Mini, a wired Xbox controller designed for gamers with smaller hands, including children and teens. This controller is 20% smaller and 10% lighter than 8BitDo's standard Ultimate C model, weighing approximately 189.6 grams compared to the typical 287 grams of standard Xbox controllers.
Despite its reduced size, the Ultimate Mini retains full-sized triggers, joysticks, and buttons, arranged closer together to enhance ergonomics for smaller hands. It features Hall effect triggers and drift-resistant magnetic joysticks for improved precision and durability. Additionally, the controller includes interactive "Fire Ring" LED lighting around each joystick, offering various lighting modes that respond to button presses and joystick movements.
The Ultimate Mini is compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and Windows 10 or 11 PCs. It connects via a wired USB connection, which contributes to its lightweight design by eliminating the need for batteries. However, the lack of wireless connectivity means users will need to manage the physical cable during gameplay.
Available in translucent white, pink, and green, the 8BitDo Ultimate Mini is priced at $34.99 and can be purchased through Amazon and 8BitDo's online store.
