YouTube uses artificial intelligence to protect users from fake content

To combat the illegal use of artificial intelligence, video sharing platform YouTube announced a new feature that allows users to request the removal of content that uses artificial intelligence to mimic their faces or voices.

According to Android Authority, this move aims to address growing concerns about the use of artificial intelligence to imitate people.

YouTube has confirmed that the abuse complaint form can lead to the suspension of a user's account on the platform, as the platform is aware of the potential for misuse of the system to harass content creators.

YouTube is committed to manually reviewing takedown requests to determine whether reported content falls into categories such as parody or ridicule, especially when it comes to well-known figures.

Earlier this year, YouTube required content producers to disclose any content created using artificial intelligence to manipulate real-world events or fabricate the actions of individuals.

To increase transparency, content creators should tag AI-generated content in the platform description field. Failure to comply with disclosure requirements may result in removal of content and exclusion of violators from the ad revenue sharing program.

The emergence of generative AI tools has raised several ethical concerns, with developers around the world accusing major tech companies of using their work to train AI models without proper consent.

Advanced AI capabilities can produce incredibly realistic images, sounds, and videos. Therefore, caution must be exercised when using it to spread misinformation on digital platforms, especially during important events such as the upcoming US presidential elections.
