This is the computer I’ve been using every day for about a year now and I’m really impressed. It’s handled every game I’ve thrown at it, etc.
GPU: I’ll do this first because it’s arguably the most important part. I have the RTX 3060 version and it’s important to note that this is a MOBILE 3060 and it’s a bit lower in performance than the desktop 3060. It’s about the same performance as the desktop 1070 Ti. I’ve played some pretty intense games over the past year, including the recent Baldur’s Gate 3 with the graphics maxed out. I kept the screen refresh rate at 60Hz instead of 144Hz, which you can use because it saves battery while giving your GPU more power to pause while playing. I also set the FPS to 60 directly from the Nvidia app. For the same reason, you don’t need 144Hz, as the BG3 maintained a steady frame rate of 50-60 FPS and only used about 50% of the GPU. I also regularly played the game at max graphics speed on Xbox Gamepass without experiencing any stuttering or issues. Overall, I’m impressed with the Mobile 3060’s capabilities.
Display: The display is a very bright and clear IPS display, running at 144Hz, and viewing angles are good, and even when viewed from the side, details can still be seen (albeit a little dim). At max brightness, it gets so bright that it almost causes headaches, so I personally keep the brightness at around 20%.
Battery: Depending on what you’re doing, the battery is fine. When I play (battery not recommended), I can play for about an hour. But if I use it daily, with my settings (60Hz refresh rate, 20% brightness) I can get 3-4 hours of continuous use.
CPU: I had no issues multitasking or running apps or games. Even with CPU intensive programs like Handbrake, it maximizes CPU usage while still giving you decent performance so you can still use it for web browsing and videos.
Cooling: When playing big games, the fans can get quite loud. I recommend propping them up with a stand to allow air circulation. This can be very helpful. There is a physical Turbo button that turns the fan on at 100%, which is great for lower temperatures, but it is also quite loud, so it is best to just use headphones. Under load, the BG3 has an operating temperature of around 60 degrees Celsius, which is quite low. During more intense gaming, I saw it reach 70-75°C, which is quite high but still within acceptable limits.
- Enjoy world-class gaming and creativity on the go: The Intel Core i7-13650HX processor exceeds all expectations and enables your PC to do more at once. With a unique design, you get the performance you need to play games, record gameplay, and stream games at high frame rates, and easily switch to multitasking workloads like video, music, and photo editing.
- Incredibly fast: Feel the power radiating from the neon shell of the Helios Neo 16. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU is incredibly fast for gamers and developers. It’s based on the highly efficient NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture and delivers huge advances in performance and AI-powered graphics.
- Stunning visuals: Focus on this display. The 16-inch WUXGA LED panel features a 16:10 aspect ratio, 165Hz refresh rate, and 3ms response time for optimal performance and includes NVIDIA G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus for maximum graphics performance. The result is a display that minimizes tearing and blurring and prioritizes a smooth gaming experience.
- NVIDIA ADVANCED OPTIMUS: NVIDIA Advanced Optimus is NVIDIA’s graphics switching technology that allows the laptop’s display to dynamically switch between integrated (on-processor) and discrete (NVIDIA GPU) graphics without the need to reboot. Thanks to G-SYNC, Optimus also delivers long battery life and a great gaming experience without tearing or slowing down.
- Internal specs: 16GB dual-channel DDR5 memory (up to 4800 TPS) (32GB max); 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD (2 PCIe M.2 slots | 1 slot available
