Meta has released a new update for its Ray-Ban smart glasses that brings many changes and new features to the glasses and also increases the video recording limit to 3 minutes.
This means you can now record videos directly from Ray-Ban smart glasses at up to three times the previous maximum video recording time of 60 seconds.
Meta smart glasses have built-in cameras, which partly explains their popularity, although it has always been somewhat limited. Although the video recording quality is excellent, the real limitation is the recording limit.
Note that the recording orientation is only locked in portrait mode and you can only record 1-minute videos.
The Meta Smart Glasses do not offer the option to extend the video recording limit, although this is changing with the latest update.
The company is yet to release official release notes, but it is rolling out a new software update with version number 6.0 for all the smart glasses.
The new software update increases video recording time to 3 minutes and also supports Calm, Amazon Music, and more.
The update brings a number of changes to the smart glasses that Meta first released at the end of May.
Even after the latest update, there is still an issue where the default recording duration limit is still set to 60 seconds.
To record longer videos (up to 3 minutes), Glass users need to go to the Camera section in Settings and change the video duration.
Once set up, wearers can record longer videos using the smart glasses' built-in 12MP camera.
It should be noted that recording longer videos can also affect the battery of your smart glasses.
The update now supports built-in startup options. In addition to Spotify and Apple Music, the Amazon Music app is now supported and you can long press on the stem of the smart glasses to instantly start playback or use your voice to start playing music.
