Huawei announced the launch of a beta version of its new operating system, HarmonyOS NEXT, which includes new features based on artificial intelligence, collectively known as Harmony Intelligence.
For the first time, the Chinese company has integrated the advantages of artificial intelligence into its operating system, with the aim of improving the user experience by providing smart services in several areas such as publishing photos, communications, and improving user functions for users with special needs.
Huawei offers the AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Image Generation) function, which, in addition to colorizing and enlarging images, can also create drawings and photos and remove unwanted elements from the background without negatively affecting the image quality.
Another feature of Harmony Intelligence is the AI Voice Repair tool, which is ideal for users with speech disorders as it helps them communicate with others easily.
Users can use the tool by holding down the Celia Voice button and then speaking. The system then automatically corrects the language to make it clearer and easier to understand. Using the same mechanism, users can also hear other people's voices or convert them to text.
For visually impaired users, Huawei offers the “Celia Sees the World” feature, which uses an AI camera to accurately identify surrounding objects.
Harmony Intelligence provides developers with advanced features to launch their own applications, such as real-time playback, smart fill, text translation, face recognition, map and text recognition (OCR), image cropping, etc.
Huawei has improved its Celia smart assistant and now relies on the modern PanguLM 5.0 model to improve its performance when executing commands and tasks.
Importantly, these features will be released with the final release of the new HarmonyOS NEXT later this year and will be available on all eligible devices that receive the system.
