Video sharing platform YouTube has introduced a new feature that allows users to skip sections that other users do not usually watch and move to other sections.
If you double-tap to scroll forward while watching a video, a button will appear that takes viewers directly to the section they want to reach. The button is called "Jump Forward" and appears in the lower right corner for a few seconds. If the viewer wants to scroll for a while, the corner will automatically disappear, which only takes 10 seconds.
According to YouTube, the phrase “Skip repeatedly skipped parts” will appear when you click the button, and the new mechanism relies on artificial intelligence to analyze data and determine “the next best point of view.”
It should be noted that this feature is only available to paid YouTube Premium subscribers and is not available to all users like other AI-based features on the platform.
“Premium” subscribers can activate it by accessing the “Try new features” section in the app. Please note that it is currently only available to users in the United States.
According to YouTube, the feature will initially only be available for English-language videos and will primarily appear on clips that attract a lot of views.
This new feature is complemented by other features such as summarizing videos and the ability to ask questions about their content and get instant answers.
