Zyxel BE11000 Enterprise WiFi 7 Triple Wireless Access Point | Power Supply Not Included | Cloud Fog [NWA130BE]
Ignore the comments about this device not supporting WiFi 7 or MLO. It clearly does and connects to WiFi 7 clients without any issues. Maybe those reviewers just didn’t change their radios to “11be,” who knows.
I replaced three TP-Link Deco X75Pro (WiFi 6E) consumer mesh routers with the BE11000 Triple Access Point and couldn’t be happier. If you just want to plug in the power (or in this case use POE as your preferred method…there is 12V but you have to provide power if you want to use it) and have WiFi magically come to life, this is not the access point for you.
This is a good option if you want to actually control the security of each SSID, use SNMP for monitoring, and configure tunnels and roaming through the access point.
I tried it with Nebula (the cloud control layer) first and it worked great. It’s not particularly easy to use, but it’s nice and effective. It hides a lot of the features from the paid subscription tier, but it’s pretty good overall. Finally, I decided to manage these access points directly. The native web UI and CLI are feature-rich, and once you get the gist of the “stuff” you’re working with (radio, SSID, security, MAC filtering, etc.), it’s easy.
As expected, the command line and configuration file formats are iOS-inspired. SNMP supports standard MIB rules as well as Zyxel’s own MIB rules, so you can get a list of the station’s contents and associated access points.
These rules have worked well for me so far. I use all three access points through a cheap 2.5G POE adapter and they work great. Performance on all three bands is excellent, with signal strength at 5GHz and 6GHz about as strong as the access points they replace. These access points have different antenna configurations than the access points they replace, so the 2.4GHz signal reaches different parts of the house differently. There’s no right or wrong, just be careful. There are great examples of radio modes in the user manual. So be sure to check that out.
