We own 5 Chromebooks, including my daily Pixelbook Go. We've also owned a few Macbooks over the years. Of all the Chromebooks we have in our house, this one beats any Asus or Lenovo model. We own two Lenovos, both of which have quality control issues. We have 3 Asus machines: 2 are low-end machines that don't do much work. The third Asus is in the mid-range price range and is consistently average. But the Acer, at a slightly higher price than our last Asus purchase, definitely beats it. Great keyboard and screen (non-touch), bright, beautiful colors. The extra storage is great. Fast processor. There’s nothing to complain about with this one.
In my opinion, the standard is the Pixelbook Go. Despite being 5 years old, it’s still better than most Chromebooks. However, the Acer, with its new i5 processor and 16GB of RAM, beats the Pixelbook Go in speed and almost every other aspect. Finally, a manufacturer offers a great Chromebook alternative for under $1,000. It seems like the only way to get a decent Chromebook is to spend $1,000, but this Acer does a great job at a reasonable price.
