Microsoft is working to improve the performance of the Edge browser

Microsoft announced on its official website that it has announced new changes to its Edge browser to improve the overall performance of the browser and make the user interface more responsive.

Microsoft said that with the launch of version 122 of the browser in late February, the user interface responsiveness of the Browser Essentials section in Edge increased by 42%. This number rises to 76% for users whose devices do not include an SSD or have less than 8GB of memory.

The company says that in version 124, released in mid-April, the Favorites feature is 40% more responsive than it was before the update and that this improvement occurs when Favorites are expanded or collapsed.

Microsoft reports that these improvements are the result of data collected from browser users about the responsiveness of the user interface.

The company found that the UI code was not sufficiently segmented and that some parts of the code “shared data unnecessarily,” which affected performance.

In this context, the Edge team has developed a new project called WebUI 2.0. In this project, Microsoft created a new internal user interface architecture to achieve high performance on modern web engines.

Microsoft has set up a WebUI 2.0 project to manage the “Browser Essentials” part of the interface, which has seen major speed improvements. Microsoft plans to update other browser UIs to WebUI 2.0, which means better performance. and response in the coming months.
