BYD has officially launched the highly anticipated Hiace 07 mid-size SUV.
The Sea Lion 07 is based on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo and is the latest addition to the Ocean series.
The car is available in four types: starting at $26,250 for the standard version, $27,700 for the long-range version, $30,400 for the smart version, and $33,200 for the smart four-wheel drive version.
The Sea Lion 07 is inspired by the Ocean-X concept car and continues the Seal design language.
The exterior appearance is elegant, with headlights similar to those of the Seal. The new car also features retractable door handles.
Its back design is also similar to the seal design. It features a full-length taillight, ducktail spoiler and roof spoiler.
On the back there is no “Build Your Dreams” lettering, but rather a simple BYD logo.
Although BYD has integrated many innovations into the Hiace 07, its appearance is similar to that of a stamp.
The e-Platform 3.0 Evo is a significant upgrade over the e-Platform 3.0 because it improves the integration between the powertrain and charging functions.
Enhanced CTB integration technology improves frontal crash safety by 60% and cabin deformation resistance by 50%. The penetration depth into the cabin in the event of a collision is less than 5 mm, which increases passenger safety.
BYD has added a 12-in-1 intelligent electronic driving system with a top speed of 225 kilometers per hour.
BYD's innovative electric drive system combines key components into a single unit, improving efficiency and reliability.
The two-wheeler versions have 230 kW and 170 kW electric motors.
Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive version is equipped with two engines with 160 kW and 230 kW respectively.
The single-engine version offers two options for a range of up to 550 km and 610 km, while the range of the dual-engine version reaches 550 km.
Maximum torque is 380 Nm, and acceleration times from 0 to 100 km/h are 7.3 seconds and 6.7 seconds, respectively. The battery capacity is 71.8 kW and 80.64 kW respectively.
- Charges the battery to 80% within 25 minutes.
As the first of its kind in the world, BYD Hiace 07 with an output capacity of 180 kilowatts can make full use of the current maximum capacity of GB15 general fast charging.
The Hiace 07 is the first BYD car equipped with the DiPilot 100 advanced driver assistance system, which integrates 12 ultrasonic radars, a 5 mm wavelength radar and 11 cameras.
The system provides Level 2 advanced driver assistance features, including lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, and intelligent cruise control.
The BYD Hiace 07 features a four-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, a crystal gear selector, physical buttons for basic controls and a 50-inch augmented reality display on the windshield.
The 15.6-inch central screen runs DiLink 100 and is equipped with a chip that supports voice control.
The cabin's ambient lighting can emit up to 128 colours. The car is equipped with a 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system.
Other features include 220V power for laptops, a karaoke system and NFC keyless entry.
The car is equipped with 11 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system and driver assistance system.
With a competitive price and advanced new features, the Hiace 07 aims to challenge the Tesla Model Y.
