According to a recent report from the Apple Insider website, Apple plans to integrate calendar and reminder apps into the upcoming iOS 18 and macOS 15 later this year.
Citing people familiar with the matter within the company, the report claims that Apple is testing a “new and improved” version of the Calendar app that offers integration with the Reminders app, and the report claims that users can “directly plan and organize reminders” without using an actual reminder app.
The report adds that reminders added by users through the new Calendar application will also appear in the Reminders application, and the Calendar application supports specifying date, time, location, and priority settings for each reminder.
Regarding design, the report also adds that the Calendar app “will see minor design changes on iOS 18 and macOS 15.”
This expected change is similar to what Google is already doing with integration between its Calendar and Tasks apps to make it easier to use and ensure users' tasks and events don't contain conflicting data.
These new leaks join other previous leaks that highlight the new changes that Apple will make to its core applications, including additional changes to the Notes application, Calculator, Siri, Safari, and more. Other app changes focus on adding AI-powered features.
Apple has been working hard to combat internal leaks but has failed to prevent such leaks. On the contrary, leaks have increased this year compared to previous years.
