I'm interested in a smartwatch, but I don't want to pay exorbitant brand prices. This turned out to be the perfect solution for me. I've been using it for about half a day for 5 days and it still has 52% charge, so the battery life is good. The strap is nice and flexible, but I take it off when I sit at the computer for long periods, so I might try getting a metal strap like a traditional watch.
Installation took a while, probably because this is my first smartwatch. I ran into some weird errors while creating the account, so I decided to skip my favorites. I can pair the watch with my smartphone without any problems. Then select it to receive notifications for text messages, phone calls, and specific apps. I find that I don't particularly like notifications, so I just focus on them. It vibrates for notifications and the Bluetooth feature is great for answering and making calls. The health data works, but it doesn't seem to sync with my health data on the Samsung, so they both track my steps. I didn't sleep with it to test the sleep tracking. I'm having trouble getting the voice assistant to work with Google Assistant. It keeps running Bixby on my Samsung phone. But the alarm works, and the music, stopwatch, calculator and remote shutter controls are all useful. The flashlight function is interesting. What I love most is that I can find my phone through my watch and vice versa through my phone. I've tried some custom watch faces and they're great because they display a lot of data on one screen and the always-on feature is great for keeping time while charging. The only major issue I have is that the weather data is often queried from other cities with similar names, but the software could be improved.
Processing quality is very good. This is the sturdier version, so I wear it when working in the garden. It did hit a few things, but there are no visible scratches on the screen or metal frame. It is 14mm deep, 42mm wide (excluding buttons) and 49mm long (52mm including belt buckle). Although I didn't try swimming, the water looked good.
Overall, I'm happy and excited to be more connected to technology at a price I still enjoy.
