Premium brand BYD Sunshine King has unveiled its new U7 flagship sedan at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show.
Yang Wang said the U7 sedan has the world's lowest drag coefficient at 0.195.
The car has an elegant appearance similar to the U9 supercar, although the exterior follows the shape of a four-door sedan.
The U7's dimensions are 5,265mm x 1,998mm x 1,517mm and the wheelbase is 3,160mm.
Like the U9, the car features a C-shaped headlight cluster surrounded by an LED light strip.
The ribbed lines on the hood are also similar, although the lower grille area is completely different.
A lidar unit and an electrically adjustable rear spoiler are integrated into the roofline.
BYD's new cars are equipped with rear-view mirror cameras designed specifically for high-end models. These cameras achieve a low drag coefficient.
The car is based on the e4 platform and features a new version of the DiSus DiSus-Z suspension system, which uses electric motors instead of hydraulic shock absorbers. This gives you the feeling of driving on flat ground.
BYD's suspension has now entered the electric era after the petrol era and can be adjusted in less than 10 milliseconds. These modifications allow power to be restored, allowing the battery to be recharged.
The maximum speed is 270 kilometers per hour. The car is powered by four electric motors, each producing 326 horsepower, for a total of 1,304 horsepower.
The car is equipped with a 135.5 kilowatt battery, and has a range of up to 800 kilometers. The U7 sedan is equipped with a panoramic sunroof and optional electronic mirrors.
The U7 is also equipped with Tianshen intelligent driving solution. The vehicle has three 5mm wavelength lidar radar units and 13 cameras to provide data. A computer system performs up to 508 trillion operations per second.
