Review D-Link AX6000 M60 WiFi 6 Mesh Router

D-Link Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Router | Contemporary design | High performance | Feature Rich | Parental Control | More than 3000 square meters |

Let me start with the elephant in the room. I'm someone who likes to use a web client to access router control panels and the instructions are similar to Abbott and Costello's. Out of about 50 attempts, I was only able to get to the login screen once. You will receive a personal address that will take you to the login page. However, I can still access the help page where it asks me to enter a custom address. To greet. Where do you think we are located?

So I gave up and moved to the mobile app. To access it, you need to create a Dlink account. But once I got into the control panel, the situation was completely disappointing. There is not much to do in the router's control panel settings. Turn the radio on/off. Enable/disable Smart Connect. Not much else. I've seen additional settings on the router provided by the cable company. Very disappointing in this regard. There is no control over which radio channel you use. Are there DFS channels? Who do you know?

On the contrary, the acting is excellent. So at least it's a good idea to adapt everything.

I use this setup as a wired hotspot specifically for WiFi streaming on Steam Deck and Oculus Quest 3. With the Quest 3 and using virtual desktops, the connection speed is limited to 2401Mbps. It is a nice. During over a week of testing, I never noticed an increase in network response time.

I tested the H264+ at 500Mbps on a virtual desktop and it was absolutely fantastic. My GPU couldn't always handle these high encoding rates (depending on how hard I pushed it during rendering), but network latency never increased due to packet loss. Running virtual desktops with the Quest 3 has been very smooth for me. It was a tough ordeal and no packages fell. So I was very impressed with the performance. My old router can't keep up with the performance of this router.

I think this is a great router for anyone who wants easy setup, great performance, and a very stylish look. If you want to change all your network settings, this router is not for you. In my experience, even if you just want to access basic settings, you'll probably need to use the mobile app to access the control panel.

Edit: Updated to 5 stars. The more I use it, the more I love this thing. I also forgot to mention this initially, but there is a setting that completely disables the LEDs. Although it does not have many settings, it does have settings for one of the most important functions any electronic device can have. I really like the option to turn off the LEDs.
