Where did this come from in my travel life? :D Seriously! I'm afraid rave reviews are paid (note: I don't get paid either, and there are no notes or emails saying "If you review well, you'll get a..."), so I'm hesitant to do it. This only happened recently, but I've had a very busy few weeks because I was also traveling and I thought, "I should try this."
It arrived in good time and I tested it today - I was ready to buy an adapter since my MacBook Air only has a USB-C port, but I took it out of the box as it was well packed and plugged it in with the USB-C port to the USB C port on the monitor, then to your Mac and BOOM! I have two monitors! You don't have to go into settings, find an adapter, find a way to plug it into a separate outlet (it's powered by my Mac Power... I admit I did), literally plug it in and it works - 100% right out of the field. It is the epitome of plug and play! Okay, I'll calm down, but just a little :D - You have the option to change the resolution, but I'll leave the default set, which works fine for me - I feel it's a bit similar to my Mac. I'll find that it works best for me with the brightness (slider on the side of the screen) turned up to the highest level, but my Mac turns it up too. There is a power adapter as well as two other cables (USB to USB C and HDMI to HDMI Mini), but I don't need it in this setup... I wonder... can I really use an extra cable and connect it? If I connect it to my iMac and a second monitor, can I connect three monitors? I'll take care of it when I get back from my trip.
Now I'm happy to have a screen that's a little wider than my MacBook Air but equally thin and light, and my middle-aged eyes can work more efficiently with the extra front screen space to attach a MacBook iPad to - it "works", but I like being able to open Three full size windows with a message in the sidebar, and on the iPad I have to use split screen etc., well, I'm too old for that. I need a bigger screen. It's the screen :D
It's cheaper today than when you bought it - what? Just kidding, no complaints about the price I paid. value!
