WhatsApp introduces a new option to format text messages

Instant messaging platform WhatsApp has announced new options that allow users to format text messages in different ways.

According to the platform, the platform offers four new options that were recently tested, namely bulleted and numbered lists, assigning code, and creating quotes.

Users can create a bulleted list by adding a hyphen "-" followed by a space, or a numbered list by adding a number, then a period, then a space before they start typing, for example. For example ".1".

You can also highlight quotes by adding a "<" symbol before a specific part of a text message, and you can also highlight code symbols by adding a "`" symbol before the symbol you want to highlight.

The new WhatsApp options complement existing basic formatting options for text formatting, such as: b. Bold, italic, or centered with lines.

The format of text messages in WhatsApp depends on the symbols used for each option, such as: for example, by enclosing text between two asterisks "*" to make it bold, or by enclosing text between two hyphens to make it italic. WhatsApp does not offer such options. Delete options or icons in the interface to format text.

In addition to the desktop app and web version on Windows and Mac computers, users can also take advantage of the new formatting options for WhatsApp on Android and iPhone. It is best to update the application to the latest version available.

Other apps, like rival Telegram, let you format text using a menu of options that automatically appear when you select text in a message. This method seems easier than using captions in WhatsApp.
