Zyxel USGFLEX200 - (USG60v2) UTM and VPN firewall (hardware only) compatible with NebulaFlex
I upgraded my home internet to AT&T 1Gb Simul Fiber. My previous router, the Zyxel VPN 110, could only achieve about 600Mbps with UTM completely disabled and only the firewall enabled. The device is advertised as running on a 1600Mbps SPI firewall. So it's not even close.
The device has a firewall and a full suite of 1GbE UTM.
I have extensive experience with Zyxel products. I installed the USG200 for my company's main site and the USG 50 in a satellite office with a 24/7 VPN connection. I also installed USG 110 and USG 50 for my home router. So over the weekend I was able to deploy the new router including VPN support and a few virtual servers. In the meantime, I upgraded my WiFi from the original Orbis to the Orbi Wifi 6. I had issues with IoT devices disconnecting from the WiFi, but that no longer happens.
The system, a Zyxel Flex 700 and Orbi Wifi 6, supports my technology, has about 60 IoT devices, three NAS servers, four 4K streaming devices, and supports 3 SSL VPN users (the box is for 150 SSL licensed clients). I know that in theory this router should be overkill for my needs, but it allows me to take full advantage of a 1GB connection and is much more stable than my previous system.
The device contains 12 Internet ports. All of this can be configured for individual networks. In my opinion 9 ports make up a network. This allowed me to ignore the 24 port Enet switch.
The device can terminate fiber directly, but I doubt I can ask AT&T to connect it that way in the box.
