Google is testing a new feature called Talk to a Live Representative that will allow the company's software to call a company on your behalf, cycle through voice options, wait on the line, and then notify you when a real person is available to talk.
The new feature is experimental in the company's research labs. This feature is very similar to the Hold for Me feature found on Pixel phones, but it has two additional key features.
The feature works on all phones, not just the Pixel 3 or later, and offers the ability to proactively contact the company on your behalf instead of activating something after you make a call and putting it on hold.
You can access the feature by searching for the company's customer support number. If supported, Google will display a Request a Connection button.
If you search for a customer service number that Google previously displayed through its dashboard, you may see a prominent prompt titled “Speak to a live agent.”
Google will call the support line on your behalf, wait for a customer service representative to arrive, and then contact you so you can continue working.
Supported companies include some US airlines, telecommunications companies, retailers, insurance companies and other service companies.
You can specify the reason for the call, for example. B. Update existing reservation, baggage issue, flight cancellation, flight confirmation, missed flight, flight delay.
If a representative is available to speak with you, Google will send you a progress notification via SMS before contacting you.
The order page displays the estimated online wait time and you can cancel your order at any time after placing it.
In addition to Chrome, the beta feature is also available in the US via the Google app for Android and iOS.
