Webex video calling app has been launched on Apple TV

Online video chat and conferencing platform Webex has announced a new app for Apple TV 4K that lets users make calls and meet from the big screen.

Users can scan the QR code on the login screen of the Webex app on Apple TV. Once you log in, you can join the meeting.

To join a meeting or video call, you'll need to connect your iPhone (or iPad) wirelessly to your Apple TV to use it as a microphone and webcam during the meeting.

TVs generally don't have built-in microphones or webcams for video and audio input, so iPhones and iPads do this through the Continuity feature.

Apple previously released the FaceTime video calling app for Apple TV, along with other similar apps like Zoom.

Webex promises a crystal clear audio and visual experience. In addition to calendar and Siri integration, as well as using the remote to navigate meetings and access meeting controls, the app also provides video and microphone status previews before joining a meeting.

The Webex app, which allows up to 25 participants on screen at the same time, is a free download from the App Store, but is available on Apple TV‌ 2nd generation 4K or later, and on iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later. A. A newer version must be available. Until now.
