The Retro Gaming Watch Project reaches its Kickstarter goal

The Retro Gaming Watch portable gaming device project was launched on Kickstarter with a different concept from similar portable devices.

Designer and developer Jason Rogers wants to make retro games accessible through wearable devices, like the idea of a smartwatch. It seems that the idea was a success on the Kickstarter platform, especially after several years of development work, and the campaign launched by Rogers quickly reached its goal.

The campaign's goal was to raise $35,000 for the project, but the campaign raised $56,000 in a short period of time, with 20 days remaining until the end of the allotted period.

The gaming laptop is based on the Renesas/Dialog DA14706 SoC, an Arm Cortex-M33 processor clocked at up to 160MHz, up to 1.5MB of RAM, and up to 8MB of external QSPI RAM.

It also uses a 2D graphics processing unit (FPGA), an integrated circuit that allows the integrated system to be modified and designed after the manufacturing process to emulate DOS games.

In addition to old games, the Retro Gaming Watch is also compatible with smartphone applications as the device supports Bluetooth technology, which allows wireless connection to external devices such as smartphones or tablets to receive and send messages.

It also has a 1.5-inch LCD screen with a display resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. We also noticed the presence of four buttons in addition to the D-pad.

There is currently no information about when the device will be available.
