MSI MAG323UPF, 32-Inch 3840 x 2160 (UHD) Gaming Monitor, Fast 4K IPS Gaming Monitor, 1ms, 160Hz, FreeSync Premium, HDR600, FreeSync Premium Pro, HDMI, DisplayPort, Tilt, Swivel, Rotation and Height Adjustable.
First, as of writing, Amazon's description still says the screen size is 27 inches. this is not true. The screen is actually 32 inches. I chose this monitor primarily because of the KVM functionality. I wanted a large screen, over 30 inches, that could be used as a personal desktop and work laptop. Given the superior visual quality of a pure OLED panel, I initially gravitated toward a 34-inch ultrawide OLED model with KVM (such as MSI's MEG 342C). However, after checking out the OLED options in person at a local store, I noticed unwanted image retention and the display unit started to burn in. I chose an IPS panel so that I wouldn't have to worry or have issues with frequent maintenance of the OLED/Pixel panel or pop-ups. I also found that the legibility of text on the OLED panel is not very clear and I need a screen that I can use for work (lots of text). In the end I decided I wanted the extra 16:9 vertical space instead of the ultra-wide 21:9.
As for installation, everything is very simple, but assembly requires a screwdriver to tighten the two screws to secure the bracket. The power cord is thick and has a D-shaped power plug like a computer power supply - not a power adapter. There is one full-size DisplayPort 1.4a port, two full-size HDMI 2.1 ports, one DP Type-C alternate port for PC #1, one USB-B port for PC #2, and 3 USB-A coaxial connectors for PC #2. Shared devices. It can be shared between computers #1 and #2.
After setup, I found that G-Sync was automatically detected and activated on the desktop. I usually have to change monitor settings to get the image I like, but I haven't had to touch anything on this screen yet. It looks great right out of the box, with no dead or stuck pixels.
However, here's the TL;DR:
- feature -
- The screen has the ability to adjust height and rotation
- With a 1ms response time, 4K 160Hz should provide plenty of FPS headroom if you're a gamer and willing to splurge on hardware
- The support is heavy and strong. Plus, unlike the V-shaped stand typically found on gaming monitors, it doesn't take up much space on your desk.
-No RGB or flashing lights. Precise LED power and emergency lights. Not the usual bad blue either. It glows soft white when turned on and turns permanently orange when idle.
- Gorgeous images and bright, clear text
- KVM switches automatically; No need to press buttons or access menus. While the desktop is running, the monitor and USB ports are available. When you connect your laptop via USB-C, everything changes.
The output power is 90W, which is enough to charge a laptop, not 15W or 18W like others (I'm talking about you, Gigabyte).
- Windows detects HDR and enables 10-bit HDR
-HDMI 2.1 means console gamers can use this monitor for 4K playback at 120Hz
--shortening--
- The monitor does not come with a USB-C cable, only DisplayPort and HDMI cables. Additionally, you need to be very careful when choosing which USB-C cable you want to use, because not all cables are created equal. What you want is a device that claims to be 40Gbps, USB-C 4, or Thunderbolt 3/4 and can deliver power ranging from 100W to 240W. A lot of data has to be transferred from one source to another over this cable, and cheap cables cannot do that. A short, 3.3-foot cable usually costs between $30 and $40. Cable TV is not cheap!
-USB-C power is disabled by default. You need to enable it in screen settings.
- 32-inch fast IPS display with 3840 x 2160 resolution (Full HD)
- 160Hz refresh rate – ghost-free screen.
- The 1ms response time helps prevent screen tearing and frame rate fluctuations.
- Wide viewing angle - 178 degree view.
- Adaptive Sync – Keep the screen away.
