Oh my goodness...this watch can rival the capabilities of the Apple Watch. But...there's something weird about this watch, and it doesn't fit my Apple Watch. Let me explain.
On paper, the watch has a lot of great features, as do all the health monitoring tools you've found on the Apple Watch, including oxygen levels and body temperature measurements. The watch also has different workout modes to monitor heart rate and other activity metrics. The function of the watch is very simple and intuitive. I had to download the app to sync the watch and setup was relatively easy. The only thing I like more is the battery life. It lasts about 5 days without needing to charge, which is one advantage over my Apple Watch. I think this watch is a great value for people who want a smartwatch experience but don't want to pay for all the Apple Watch technology.
Well...that's weird.
1. The Bluetooth software is not as advanced as my current watch. This means the watch hijacks my Bluetooth connections to all my speakers and headphones. My phone connects to the Sonos speaker system via Bluetooth and the watch receives the signal in the middle of the song and starts playing through the watch's little speaker. This has happened with other portable speakers and headphones. This happened to me at the gym, where the watch constantly hijacked the Bluetooth signal that was originally connected to my Bose headphones, which was very annoying during my workout.
2. The app must always be connected to the watch to sync. I left the watch in the office for a few days (to test the battery) and found that the time and date on the watch were not updated. I'm a little surprised that I have to constantly connect the watch to the app. Maybe it's user error, but I'm just sharing my experience.
3. Measurement results such as body temperature and calorie consumption are not very accurate. I've worn this watch to the gym several times, but the calorie burn was much lower than what appears on the Apple Watch. Depending on how you wear your watch, the temperature readings may be erratic. My oxygen levels were between 99 and 95 percent, and I knew that wasn't the case.
Overall, it's a great, affordable smartwatch, but it doesn't have the quality you're used to from Apple products.
