I bought an Asus A17 (called F17 by the way) to replace a 10 year old Asus ROG gaming laptop that came with a keyboard, battery and GPU. I'm hesitant to buy an AMD processor because I always prefer Intel. But I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this AMD processor. I mainly use it for gaming and web browsing and I noticed the CPU temperature reaching 95°C while gaming. Although AMD and Asus say this is normal, I feel uncomfortable working at this heat for a long period of time. I found a solution online to prevent the AMD CPU from auto boosting and it now runs at 65°C without losing performance while gaming, which is great. The NVIDIA 4050 GPU is a beast and runs all my games on the ULTRA card without any issues. Overall, I'm very happy with this laptop.
Cons... No DVD, which wasn't a problem for me. There are only two USB 3.0 ports, but there are two USB 4.0 ports.
The visual issue for me is that the battery and hard drive activity status indicators are in the upper right middle corner.
It's distracting at the bottom of the screen. This problem was solved by placing a small piece of black electricity
