AOC 24B3HM 24" Full HD 75Hz, AMD FreeSync, HDR, Home & Office, HDMI, VGA, LowBlue, VESA
My home office setup is a second ACER ultra-wide monitor mounted on a floating arm. It's a great monitor, but for some reason, it's so buggy that I can't get my work laptop (Dell CAD Workstation) to find the right resolution. I had to play around with the settings (since it was a 75Hz monitor) and eventually my system learned the correct settings... even then my system would sometimes see the screen as a regular 1920 x 1080 PnP screen or flicker intermittently. As if it's hard to find the right settings/sources (it has to do with auto-detection). Pooh. This is driving me crazy. However, I also use the extended screen for my home setup (my wife and I share a monitor) and allow it to switch between older MS Surface products (SurfacePro5 and SurfaceBook2) on both devices; When connected to an ACER ultrawide monitor, this is the worst possible explanation for the extreme blurring at 1920 x 1080 (which isn't 75Hz anyway). It's not great.
Now turn on the AOC 27-inch monitor. It's a big screen, but with basic settings: 1920 x 1080, around 60Hz, which is much thinner than the largest ACER monitors, and this AOC monitor is very "bezelless". They fit better/easier on a small home office computer arm. It was also instantly recognized by all of our computers and Windows and easily adjusted to the correct settings. This is a clean, bright and clear image representation. Our older laptops are much better than ACER's wide range of laptops.
I had high hopes for the ACER to be an ultra-wide device... but the longer, rectangular 27-inch AOC works better. The AOC Real Estate display measures 13.5" x 24"... while the ACER Super display measures 11.5" x 27". Taller/narrower AOC displays work better when reading web pages, creating presentation slides, or doing computer-aided design (CAD). It may just be a preference (based on my usage), but it's distinct. I think the ultra-wide range might be more suitable for gaming, but it's not suitable for other purposes.
Oh, and for under $100, this 27-inch AOC unit is a steal! Large size, good quality, good performance and high performance!
