OnePlus has launched its first phone of 2024, the OnePlus Ace 3, the successor to last year's OnePlus Ace 2 with upgrades to some key specifications and 1TB of internal storage.
The OnePlus Ace 3 features a 6.7-inch curved LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels and a variable refresh rate of 120Hz.
The screen also has a brightness of 1,600 nits in automatic mode and a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits, the same as the OnePlus 12 screen.
OnePlus has improved the screen for a better gaming experience and provided the company with a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection layer and a 16-megapixel front camera hole.
OnePlus has continued the design language that debuted on the OnePlus 11, with aluminum frames and a frosted glass back, as well as a circular camera area built into the side frame.
The OnePlus Ace 3 also features a three-level alarm slider. The company has equipped this phone with more features like dual SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and dual speakers.
There is a triple camera setup on the back, where the main lens is 50MP with a Sony IMX890 sensor and optical image stabilization.
The main lens is equipped with an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 internal storage.
Android 14-based ColorOS 14 UI powers the device, while the battery capacity is 5,500 mAh and features 100W SuperVOOC fast wired charging which promises to charge the battery in 27 minutes, though wireless charging is not currently supported.
The price of the OnePlus Ace 3 starts at around $365 for the 12GB/256GB version and goes up to around $493 for the 16GB/1TB version.
The OnePlus Ace 3 remains exclusive to the Chinese market, but a rebranded version called the OnePlus 12R will launch on January 23 alongside the OnePlus 12 in global markets including North America, Europe, and India.
