Google is removing several features from its personal assistant

Google announced its intention to delete many features from its personal assistant (Google Assistant) because they are “unused,” according to a company statement on its official website.

Google said it would remove low-use features to prioritize other "users" and invest in core technology, and also promised to make its personal assistant "more useful."

Starting in late January, users who rely on features that are scheduled to be deleted will receive notifications indicating that they have been paused, and the features will be permanently deleted by the end of February next year.

This news comes a day after Google announced that it would lay off about 1,000 employees, including those developing its personal assistant, to cut costs.

The features announced by Google will be removed from smartphones, tablets, and smart watches, in addition to other devices such as speakers and smart displays. Although Google claims there are alternatives, they don't really match the functionality of the original.

Among the functions that Google wants to delete (Google Assistant), we mention reading audio books in “Google Play Books” and controlling them by voice, and setting or using alarms in music, radio, or multimedia readers, or managing them. Smart chronometers. Screen and speakers Or use... Voice to send an email, voice message, or photo with Google Assistant and other features.

Google is currently working on integrating the artificial intelligence robot “Bard” into its personal assistant to improve its performance in interacting with users, answering questions, and performing tasks.
