Apple Vision Pro glasses achieve record sales for the first time

Apple sold about 200,000 pairs of the new Vision Pro mixed reality headsets during the initial pre-order period, MacRumors reported, citing sources inside Apple.

Apple opened the first pre-orders for the glasses to its US customers on January 19.

Reports last week showed that initial pre-orders for the glasses ranged from 1.60 to 180 thousand pairs, which means fewer orders for the following days compared to the previous days.

Various media outlets are expected to publish reviews of the glasses starting today, which may help boost sales further in the coming days.

Apple is expected to bring the glasses to stores on February 2.

Demand for Vision Pro glasses is expected to decline quickly due to the limited market, with the starting price of the glasses being $3,500, leaving many consumers with no other choice. Previous reports indicated that Apple was planning to sell limited quantities of glasses due to the high price and production difficulties.

The price of glasses increases when choosing a larger storage capacity or purchasing additional accessories such as Zeiss vision correction lenses.

Apple plans to produce about 500,000 glasses in 2024 for the US market and possibly other limited markets.
