Review Review ASUS TUF Gaming 1440P HDR Monitor

ASUAA ASUS TUF Gaming 27-inch 1440p HDR Monitor (VG27AQ3A) - QHD (2560 x 1440), 180Hz, 1ms, Fast IPS, 130% sRGB, Ultra Low Motion Blur Sync, Freesync Premium, G-Sync Compatible SYNC, HDMI, Display Port, Black

Configure DP for your gaming PC and HDMI for your business PC. The screen bezels are very thin, which is perfect for the Alienware aw2710hf 240Hz display. This screen is so bright that I had to turn it down to 60-70% for daily use. Although I wish there was a mode that gave me more access to all the settings, I can still get color settings that match other displays.

The stand is wide but only half the depth of my other monitor, which is great and I can still keep it on the monitor arm long term.

IPS brightness was normal, nothing more than I expected and didn't bother me at all. It's much better than my old Dell u2715h IPS monitor. In the dark with a black background you can see the glowing/IPS backlight, but I didn't notice it during normal use, especially under normal lighting. Pictured is the aw2720hf on the left and the VG27aql1a on the right. You might see him watching a movie with black bars at the top and bottom, which is not fatal to me.

For work, it's great for Excel and real-time data. The resolution is good and the text is clear.

I'd say the display lives up to the reviews I've seen on the Aorus Fi27Q and Pixio PX7 Gigabytes.

The web browsing presets are good, Racing and SRGB are the best. I had to adjust some color correction settings before I could create the image in Photoshop. All of the presets were a bit warm and bright, but usable and not completely out of the ordinary. You should also set the movie settings to a modified version of the movie or theater preset. Maybe Spyder is ready for a better match.

The movement is beautiful and this screen is fast. I played COD, Fortnite, Star Wars, and DBZ without any problems. Ghosting or other problems are not obvious. GSYNC works fine. For Fortnite, I'll probably stick with 240Hz, but for other devices that might benefit from a higher resolution, I'd upgrade to this display.
