I'm looking for a gaming monitor for my Xbox One and I use a Sony Bravia HDTV that doesn't freeze every time I want to play games while someone else is watching TV. Yes. I looked at BenQ's Zowie and almost pulled the trigger, but I really wanted an IPS screen. I am happy with my purchase so far and very happy with the quality and price of the product.
Dimensions: Since the monitor does not come with an adjustable stand, here are some measurements to help you decide whether or not you should purchase a separate stand. Table height to bottom edge of screen: 3 1/2 inches, Table height to bottom edge of screen: 4 1/4 inches. Height from desk to top of monitor: 16 1/4", screen width: 21 1/4". The monitor stand is the perfect height for me, so I don't need a separate stand.
First impression: The screen comes in a regular box with black graphics and nothing on it. The packaging seems decent for the price, as the standard foam protection layer is encased in plastic. Assembly was easy and there were no problems putting it together. I left the ports labeled, there are two HDMI ports but neither are labeled, which one is HDMI 1 and 2? In order to do justice to the price segment, some small details have been omitted. It's not a big deal and you won't see it again. The monitor stand works well and looks great.
Begins:
Fortunately, I didn't notice any dead or stuck pixels. Color and Appearance: Upon delivery, the black color turns to light grey. awesome. I adjusted the settings and lowered the brightness. The settings menu offers a lot of depth and customization and I configured it for gaming. The only negative thing I have to say about this monitor is that in gaming mode it displays the number “60” in the upper right corner of the screen. I don't know why they do that, but hey, I'm used to it. Another nice feature that I didn't take advantage of is that the screen has a built-in activateable crosshair and comes in two different versions. Nothing I read about him mentions him.
Play: Flawless as far as my aging eyes can see, no issues. I'm currently finishing another game in the Mass Effect trilogy and it's a lot of fun to play. I started playing on my old Sony Bravia HDTV and it was much more responsive. Maybe it's all in my head. The game's cutscenes aren't great, and that's probably due to the player mode setting.
I use this monitor exclusively for the Xbox One, so I can't comment on its performance for things like photo editing, but based on the number of settings, it seems adequate as a standard desktop monitor. . I think it's a great monitor for the price and I'm very happy with its performance. Hope this helps you.
