Google RCS messages reach 1 billion users

Google announced that the number of RCS messaging users in its messaging app has reached 1 billion monthly active users, and the company has released new features to celebrate this success.

One of the new features that Google has added to RCS messages is the Photomoji feature, which allows unique images to be transformed into message interactions using artificial intelligence tools, using the same mechanism that allows interaction with messages using emojis.

This feature works by selecting the photo and part you want to convert into a Photomoji and then clicking Send. These works are also saved for reuse.

Google has improved voice messaging and added the voice emoticons feature. You can choose 9 different emotions to express the content of voice messages with corresponding emojis and animation effects displayed. The overall sound quality of voice messages has also been improved by increasing the bit rate. Improvements and sampling rates, Google is also currently testing noise reduction for voice messages.

Google has added animated effects that automatically appear on the screen when you send a specific message or interact with a message using emojis, a feature inspired by the messaging app Telegram.

Google offers a Profile feature that allows users to customize the photo that accompanies their profile name and phone number.

RCS messages are an alternative to traditional SMS and MMS messages. It works over WiFi or cellular data networks and allows sending high-quality texts, photos, videos, voice messages and large files.
