Google offers repair mode for Pixel phones

Google has started rolling out Repair Mode to select Pixel smartphones to help users protect their files and data when they need repairs.

When this mode is enabled, all personal files and data are stored and only the phone owner can access them, allowing technicians to perform necessary tests and repair work without the owner's files and data.

It is worth noting that Samsung offers a similar feature on its Samsung Galaxy phones.

To activate repair mode on your Google Pixel phone, you need at least 2GB of available storage space and a screen lock passcode. This mode also accepts adding a pattern, password or PIN.

To enable this mode, you have to go to Settings, select System, tap Repair Mode, and then select Enter Repair Mode. A message will appear telling you to restart your device, which will take a few minutes.

Repair mode is already available on select Pixel phones for which Google has published the first maintenance build of the Android 14 operating system, which includes all versions of the Pixel 6, 7, and 8 phones, in addition to the foldable Pixel Fold phone. . And pixel 5a. This feature is not available in older versions such as Pixel 3, 4, and Pixel tablets.

It is expected that more and more companies will integrate this feature into their devices. Since it allows customers to back up their files and personal data, it also saves them from having to transfer this data to other devices in the event of a repair.
