Review BHWW BaseBook Pro WH160BP 32GB Ram 1TB M.2 SSD Laptop

BHWW BaseBook Pro 16.1-inch Laptop | RAM 32 GB, 1 TB M.2 SSD | Intel Core i5-1035G4 | 16:10 FHD sRGB IPS screen | Windows 11 Pro | Full type C | Fingerprint and privacy camera | An ideal choice for professionals

I already own a non-pro laptop (and it's actually a great laptop, no complaints) and it's a great all-around upgrade for anyone who needs it. More RAM, faster speeds, better processors, larger, higher-resolution screens... everything runs smoothly and quickly. I also tried out some photo and video editing and the results were great.

I once ran Windows Update while downloading a game from Steam (which itself loves to hog CPU power) and installed a few apps at the same time... and I was still able to get everything done with it. Open YouTube in the background and play 1080p videos without buffering or stuttering. When I scroll through the video timeline, it always loads immediately when I click on it and starts playing smoothly.

I mention gaming because it's suitable for light gaming, but this laptop is more about productivity than gaming. Don't expect high frames per second from the latest 3D games. But for simple games, it gets the job done.

The fingerprint sensor in your laptop may be infected or missing. Some work well, others need to be touched over and over again until they are rescued, until they are no longer worth the effort. Fortunately, the function works perfectly here. I also configured it to recognize my fingerprint when setting up Windows and used it several times to log into Windows on reboot and it never let me down. I added a video demonstrating this in the comments and my fingerprint was recognized instantly and less than a second later I booted into Windows. Much easier than entering a password to log in. Very happy with this fingerprint sensor.

I purchased a 1TB storage model and the m.2 drive was fast and loaded Windows and applications instantly. 1 TB is divided into 3 disks C:, D: and E:, each with a size of about 300 GB.

Ports include HDMI, a microSD card reader, an Ethernet port, and a headphone jack. There are also 3 USB ports (2 right, 1 left) and a USB-C port on the left. The USB-C port can also be used to power/charge the laptop...which I find very convenient. I often use my laptop at my desk and I actually have a USB-C cable on my desk to charge my phone and tablet. So instead of plugging the included recessed charging cable into the wall and then plugging another cable into my desk, I can charge the laptop using the USB-C cable that's already on my desk. Or if you're in the car, there's a USB-C cable. Or I can even charge it using a USB port on another computer. I can charge this laptop anywhere I can plug in a USB-C cable, which is great.

The keyboard is very good and I have never made a typo or pressed a key that did not register. The Fn key provides excellent volume and screen brightness control. The trackpad is very large, responsive, and easy to move with your fingers. And the speakers sound great. Most of the time I use the volume at 50% so I can easily hear everything I see or do. It's nice to have 50% more than I can ride when I need it most.

The screen is great. Clear and loud. The IPS display's colors are accurate and everything always looks sharp and clear, even when viewed from an angle.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi work well. I have no problem connecting the wireless earbuds to Bluetooth or WiFi. Everything is back to normal. The included wireless mouse also works great and is a great addition.

I have always appreciated everything you wrote above because it is so true. But if I had to pick two things I'd like to see differently, one of them would probably be a webcam. I assume it's the same 2MP camera as the non-pro model? It's always like this, okay. Nothing special, but it serves its purpose. I don't use webcams much, so it doesn't bother or affect me much, but it's just a nice upgrade. Again, the screen frequency is 60Hz, and it would be nice to go a little higher, but I'm used to high refresh rates on other devices (desktop and phone), so a 60Hz refresh rate is what's a given here for me. Another thing I would like to see is that you could unscrew the cover from the bottom for easy access to the RAM and m.2. I didn't even open it to see if it was possible to remove the RAM/m.2/upgradables...but if so, use the cover at the bottom to unscrew it for easy access without having to reach it easily, perfect for removing the entire bottom of the computer Mobile.

Other than these few flaws and “I wish they were there” things, I have no other complaints about this laptop. It can handle a lot and does it smoothly and quickly. It is thin, light and easy to carry. I am very happy with this laptop, it provides smooth and fast performance for multitasking, productivity like editing photos and videos, and entertainment like watching videos and light gaming. Since I now own two of their laptops, the BHWW and BaseBook brands are my favorites.
