Google restricts the use of Magic Editor

Google has restricted its Magic Editor to prevent its use in certain situations.

This tool is a unique and advanced way to edit photos. It relies on artificial intelligence to modify images and perform very complex tasks. It's an extension of the Magic Eraser tool that's been around for years, but the new editor is more comprehensive, powered by AI features, more comprehensive and more efficient.

However, AI tools like Google's Magic Editor have the potential to forge documents or identities. Therefore, the company decided to impose certain restrictions on the use of the tool.

Smart Photo Editor displays an error message when you try to edit a photo of an ID card, invoice, or other document that bears an official seal or contains personally identifiable information.

In addition to other restrictions such as deleting or moving large selections, the tool prevents attempts to edit faces, people, or body parts.

The Magic Photo Editor tool combines the functions of some tools previously provided by Google, such as the Photo Unblur tool, which improves distorted images, and the Magic Eraser tool, which deletes unwanted parts of the image. Recognition and other complex tasks can be completed quickly and easily and do not require extensive image processing experience.

This amazing photo editor is available to owners of the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones, and Google is expected to make this feature available on other Pixel phones in addition to subscribers to Workspace and Google One services.
