Messaging platform WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will allow users to completely hide blocked chats from the app interface to improve privacy.
Based on the feedback received in the latest beta version of the app, the app developers have added a new option in the chat lock settings that allows users to hide it in the chat tab.
The app also provides the option to set a password, which can be used to make the locked chat visible again by entering it in the search bar of the app.
Earlier this year, WhatsApp offered the ability to lock certain conversations within the app and prevent access to them after user authentication, and the company is currently expanding the functionality to add new conversations by hiding chats and using the restore layer protection feature. password.
The Chat Lock feature moves a series of messages from your inbox to a designated folder that can only be opened using your device password or biometric information like your fingerprint. This feature also automatically hides chats from notifications.
In particular, the widely used email platform is testing some security features, such as the ability to access accounts with passwords and link accounts to emails.
The platform already provides the ability to fully encrypt messages and calls between parties to provide users with maximum privacy and protect them from spying.
The new feature should be available to all users once development and beta testing are complete.
