Messaging platform WhatsApp is testing a new feature in the app that will allow users to pin important messages in conversations.
According to screenshots released from the latest beta version of the app, the message pinning feature offers three different options for the pinning period: 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days before automatic uninstallation.
Users can remove messages manually at any time before the specified time period expires.
Once pinned, messages appear permanently at the top of the conversation, making it easier for both parties in the conversation to access important or frequently accessed messages.
WhatsApp has made this new feature available in personal conversations, and it is expected to make it available in groups later, provided that the group administrator can obtain permission to install it, as the feature provides great benefits to the conversation.
WhatsApp previously offered the ability to pin an entire conversation to a message box under the main conversation tab in the app.
WhatsApp has updated the attachment sharing menu with a new design that makes it clearer and has a fresher look.
WhatsApp is currently testing this feature on the Android system with a limited number of application users, and it is expected to do the same thing on the iPhone version with the aim of making the feature available to all users soon.
The platform is preparing many new features, especially those related to generative artificial intelligence for creating stickers and chatting with smart robots.
