After assistance from Maps Customer Service and a trip to SD Montenegro, the review rating has been increased from 2 stars to 4 stars:
1. Avenza Customer Service was able to help me adjust the settings on my tablet and the app to resolve the navigation issues I was experiencing while using the app.
- This tablet has Avenza, Onx, and Polaris Ride Command installed for navigation, but I've only used Avenza so far.
2. It's hard to switch between apps - every time you go back to the home screen and have to reopen the app you want.
3. As for durability – I'm very impressed (hence the 4 stars). The first day I dropped it about 3 feet down a steep gravel driveway and it bounced and slid about 2-3 feet with no damage. He also had to deal with a lot of dust, temperatures in the 90s, cabin heat, and hopping on a five-day flight. We're not rock crawlers, but we've been on trails that required us to traverse and navigate a lot of rocks, and this thing handled it all like a champ. For comparison, one day, my phone and another phone in our group overheated.

I bought this tablet because of its advertised size and sturdiness, and because it's dust-, water- and drop-resistant, with the intention of only using the GPS function for off-road navigation.
After about 5 days, here are the positive results:
The cover is very durable and the perfect size for mounting on my UTV dashboard (with accessories of course).
I connected to WiFi, downloaded the mapping app I wanted, some maps in the app, and Pandora with no issues. These are the only features I want/expect from this tablet.
It also has Google services - Gmail, Maps, etc., which is great when I'm on WiFi.
During the test drive, the GPS followed the corresponding route/map in the app based on the product specifications without the need for a cellular signal.

In offline map apps, location points on the map don't show any direction other than north. Google Maps tries to show directions, but it's not accurate. Not my favorite, but good for the road. It's also not good for the roads/off-road we like to ride.
I read many articles, checked all settings several times, uninstalled/reinstalled the app, lost the whole website for a while, restarted and recalibrated the website many times to finally fix the issue, but I couldn't solve the routing issue. I found reviews online that Android 12 does not support GPS well. The app itself works fine on my Android 13 phone.
I'm contacting customer support through the app, but so far there seems to be a $200 error.
The home screen loads a little slowly, but tolerable. The Next Step model has more storage space, but it was too large for the space I needed to take up on the dash.
