I've loved the LG W2452T since 2008 and it's a great 60Hz gaming monitor with excellent response times. I'm worried that the LED backlight will turn me off, and I'm also worried that dead pixels will become the norm, since in 2008 they weren't just for panels as good as LG's.
I thought I'd choose Asus in the end, but I hate owning a crappy Pixel and having to keep it. AOC currently offers a 3 year warranty for zero dead pixels, and I'm sure by then I'll either get one or never get one again...or in 3-5 years, 2160p could be the standard for gaming. I will upgrade.
Image quality was improved over the old TN panel and response times remained excellent. It's nice to finally be able to see color angles "naturally" without having to tilt and move your head while working in Photoshop. When choosing an IPS panel, I was concerned about poor response times, but panels have come a long way in 12 years!
There is a setting that shows the refresh rate on all screens, which is a nice feature. I thought it would be interesting to see how this changes when G-Sync is enabled, but in reality it shows me that despite some changes, G-Sync is not actually enabled and does not work, even though I have a 144Hz refresh rate on Games I enjoy enabling it (or so I thought) because it stays stuck at 144Hz, so I had an "oh, it's an upgrade" moment. Really great" level at 144Hz, but then I learned that it wasn't actually working properly, looked it up and changed a few other settings on the software side, and then had another "wow" moment. This is where G-Sync really comes into play!
I'm sticking with AOC for my next monitor because it's great for the price and features, especially since the price includes the pixel warranty.
