I needed a compact, cheap monitor that I could take with me to college without worrying about it. Before I bought this TV, I was using it as a monitor and it was adequate compared to day and night TV (obviously). The screen is ultra-thin and features an ultra-sleek, bezel-less design. The colors on this screen are amazing, better than anything I've used before. I guess that's what you get with an IPS display. I'm using a GTX 1070, so the screen is a bit weak compared to that card, but it's perfect for the application. This screen is truly the most vibrant and beautiful screen I have ever used. Even the 60Hz refresh rate is great because I'm used to playing games on my xbone at "30fps". I feel there is no better option for this price. After college, I will be switching to a 1440p IPS display paired with a 144Hz TN display, but that will be enough for a student.
There are a few small details on the screen that I don't like:
- External electrical bricks are annoying. I would prefer if it was integrated into the screen and the screen was thicker.
-The installation is not the best design. Deletion is not convenient either.
- Difficulty pressing buttons. In addition to the not-so-great stand, when I press the power button the entire screen flips over, and when I do it usually rotates or moves. It's not the end of the world, but it's annoying to have to hold down the screen while holding the power button.
But despite these caveats, I think this monitor deserves a 5-star rating based on its performance, quality, and value for money alone. I paid about $120 for this monitor, which seems like a lot for what I get. Like I said, the screen itself is amazing, vibrant and clear. 10/10 I would buy it again.
