Qualcomm introduced the new S7 and S7 Pro chipsets with six times more processing power than previous chips and artificial intelligence features.
Starting next year, manufacturers will use these chips in headphones, earphones and speakers.
Current Qualcomm partners include: Audio-Technica, Bose, Edifier, Fiio, Jabra, LG, Master & Dynamic, Shure and other brands.
The company highlighted significant improvements in computing power, storage, AI capabilities, and more. Qualcomm points out that the active noise cancellation technology found in the S7 and S7 Pro chips is powerful and intelligent, allowing important external noise to pass through whenever it detects it.
According to the company, at the right volume level, the headphones activate Transparency Mode, allowing you to be aware of your surroundings while a truck passes or you listen to an audiobook on your bike.
The new chip also offers voice recognition capabilities that help the product distinguish your voice from the voice of those around you.
Qualcomm explained that the new S7 Pro chip supports low-power wireless network connections, allowing users to move around their homes, buildings, or campuses while listening to audiobooks or making calls.
It leverages Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technologies to enable new and innovative headphone experiences that include 192kHz lossless audio transmitted over Wi-Fi without sacrificing the earbud's battery life and the small battery inside is weak.
The chip uses Qualcomm's Extended Personal Area Network technology to automatically switch connections between devices.
Personal Wide Area Network technology switches the connection to a wireless network access point if the user is too far from the phone while the earbuds are connected to the phone via Bluetooth.
These features are available when you pair compatible S7 or S7 Pro headphones, earbuds, and speakers with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Snapdragon.
