Google officially launches the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

Google has officially launched new versions of its smartphones: Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, with improved specifications and adding unique features in terms of the operating system and artificial intelligence.

The Pixel 8 Pro phone features a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen with QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a brightness of up to 2400 nits, and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The Pixel 8 version is equipped with a 6.2-inch display with FHD+ resolution, and a notch. Brightness of 2000 nits, refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Both phones are powered by Samsung's 4nm Tensor G3 processor, which contains 9 cores: 1 Cortex-X3 architecture, 4 Cortex-A715 architecture, and 4 Cortex-A510 architecture.

The Google Pixel 8 phone contains a random access memory (RAM) with a capacity of 8 GB and a storage memory with a capacity of 128 and 256 GB, while the Pixel 8 Pro phones contain a random access memory (RAM) with a capacity of 8 or 12 GB and a storage memory with a capacity of 128, 256 and 512 GB.

Both phones feature the same 50-megapixel primary rear camera with Octa-PDAF, laser autofocus, and OIS technology.

Google added a second 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a camera similar to the Pro version, but with a 48-megapixel resolution, to the Pixel 8 phones.

Google is focusing on the Pixel 8 Pro phone, which has a third 48-megapixel camera with up to 5x optical zoom and 30x high-resolution digital zoom.

In addition to the professional manual settings feature in the professional version, Google also offers a number of new features that edit images using artificial intelligence to reduce image distortion, remove unwanted elements, and improve images after editing.

Both phones feature the same 10.5-megapixel front camera with an F/2.2 lens aperture and a 95-degree viewing angle.

The Pixel 8 comes with a 4,575 mAh battery and a 27W fast charger. The Pro version comes with a 5,050 mAh battery and a 30-watt charger and supports wireless charging.

Both phones support fifth generation networks, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, near-field communication (NFC) technology, and the built-in eSIM.

Both phones run the new Android 14 operating system, and Google outperforms Apple in this regard by promising seven years of annual Android updates and seven years of security updates.

Prices for Pixel 8 phones start at $700, while Pixel 8 Pro phones start at $1,000, and Google also offers buyers free gifts such as wireless headphones or a smart watch.
