The German BMW Group sold a total of 93,931 electric vehicles from the BMW and Mini brands in the third quarter of this year, an increase of 79.6% year-on-year.
Between July 1 and September 30, 2023, BMW delivered around 83,211 battery electric vehicles, almost double the number delivered in the same period in 2022.

Across all driving modes, the BMW Group, with its BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brands, sold approximately 621,699 vehicles in the third quarter.
This means 93,931 fully electric vehicles, or 15.1% of the group's electric vehicle share.
Between January 1 and September 30, a total of 217,138 fully electric BMW vehicles were delivered to customers.
“The BMW 4 Series cars are particularly popular, especially the all-electric BMW i4,” the company said, but demand for the BMW iX1 is also strong.
Customer reviews of the new BMW 5 Series, especially the BMW i5, have been “very positive”.
It should be noted that the numbers mentioned so far only apply to battery-powered electric cars.
The German company also announced third-quarter sales of “electric vehicles,” which include battery-powered electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles.
The company said that sales amounted to 139,943 units, meaning that 46,012 hybrid cars were sold. The current ratio of battery-only electric vehicles to hybrid vehicles is 2:1.
For comparison: in 2021 the ratio was reversed.
