Apple has unveiled a new version of its iMac desktop computer that features the latest M3 processor, making the computer nearly twice as fast as its predecessor.
The company had launched its 24-inch iMac desktop with the M1 processor more than two years ago, so it needed another upgrade.
The Apple M3 processor features an 8-core main processor and up to a 10-core GPU and supports adding up to 24GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage.
Apple says productivity apps like Safari or Microsoft Excel can run 30 percent faster, while Adobe Photoshop now processes images twice as fast as previous versions.
Apple has not changed the exterior design of the iMac, and the device still features a slim design with white borders and is available in seven different colors: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver.
Apple also left other aspects of the computer unchanged, including the 4.5K display, 1080p camera, Dolby Atmos support for external speakers, microphones, and USB ports.
As for wireless connectivity, in addition to Bluetooth 5.3, the computer also supports the latest version of Wi-Fi 6E.
Apple offers iMacs starting at $1,300 for an 8-core GPU with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while a 10-core GPU starts at $1,500.
