Apple is developing a new line of iPad tablets

Apple is currently working on a new line of iPad tablets that could be officially launched in the coming months, as the company has not yet released any new iPads since the launch of the iPad Pro and iPad 10 in October last year.

There are conflicting rumors about when Apple will launch the new iPads and which models the company plans to update. Several new iPads could reportedly be developed and released in the coming months, including the iPad mini 7 and two new iPad Air models.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported in December 2022 that the company is expected to launch a new iPad mini in late 2023 or early 2024, information that was later confirmed by leaker ShrimpApplePro.

Current information indicates that the company is still planning to launch the iPad mini 7 soon, but the specific timing is unclear. The new iPad mini is expected to retain the same design as the current generation, but it will contain a fast chip. In September 2021, Apple launched the iPad mini 6, currently equipped with the A15 Bionic chip like the iPhone 13.

Apple is also testing an updated version of the 11th generation iPad called the J126b. Last year, Apple launched the 10th generation iPad, which is similar in design to the iPad Air and equipped with a USB-C port and an A14 Bionic chip. The new 11th generation iPad may also have improved specifications compared to the current model.

The company has ambitious plans for the mid-range iPad Air tablet as it has already tested two new versions of the iPad Air. The iPad Air 6, called J507 and J508 (wireless and cellular versions), will likely replace the iPad Air 5 with a new chip.

These models align with Bloomberg's June report, as Apple is also developing other iPads based on the iPad Air called the J537 and J538.

The iPad Pro is currently the only iPad to have multiple versions as it comes in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes, so there are two models for each version. Details remain vague at the moment, although they indicate that the company may consider offering a larger version of the iPad Air or a more expensive model with better specifications.

Apple's plans could change at any time, and this second version of the new iPad Air may not arrive, although it wouldn't be surprising to see a new iPad Pro with an M3 chip as well.

Bloomberg reported last month that Apple was developing a new Magic Keyboard for the iPad that would look more like a laptop, with an aluminum chassis instead of plastic and a large trackpad.

New reports confirm this information as the new keyboard called R219, which comes with new sensors including an accelerometer, is scheduled to launch alongside the new iPad Pro.
