According to an official statement from Linda Yaccarino, CEO of the platform, the number of daily active users on Platform X (formerly Twitter) is declining.
Yaccarino said the number of daily active users on the platform now stands at 225 million, down about 11.6% from before Elon Musk acquired the platform.
In November, Musk posted several tweets from his personal account noting the platform's daily user count, which had reached 254 million before the deal closed.
According to other official data from the platform, the number of daily users is estimated at more than 245 million, which represents a 3.7% decrease compared to what it was before Musk took over the platform.
Looking at the bigger picture, “the platform,” Yaccarino said.
Yaccarino noted that users are interacting with community features for longer periods of time than they were in previous months.
Communities on the X platform are similar to the Groups feature on Facebook.
The X platform is witnessing major challenges represented by a decline in advertisers and financial revenues from advertising, and the presence of competing platforms such as the Threads platform that was recently launched by Meta, as a competing platform derived from Instagram, in addition to sharp criticism of the platform itself under Musk’s leadership.
