I'm an IT professional who travels a lot, and I have several remote offices with cubicles when I travel around town. As for my main office or dual-monitor setup at home, I don't have the luxury of a full setup in those offices. So, when I travel (mainly by car), I tend to take several monitors with me. I literally have two monitors, I put them in a box and take them with me, set them up on days I work remotely, then secure them and take them home.
With this portable monitor, I think I don't have to do that anymore, I can just put it in my laptop bag and use my laptop screen and this monitor at the same time. It has enough screen real estate for what I need for work, and the quality is sufficient for mainly text/web work.
The screen is simple. Plug it into the USB-C port on your HP laptop, get power and data, and you've got a second monitor. The color and brightness are very beautiful. great? Decent numbers? Yes! I mean there are compromises to be made in terms of size and portability. I've tried another portable monitor and it was much less powerful than this one. Actually, it's not bad at all.
I haven't tried any other uses, such as connecting to a video game console or iOS device, so I can't comment on that.
But when I use it as a second monitor on a laptop or Windows PC, I find it works great!
