I recently upgraded my home office and replaced my old Macbook Pro with a 2021 M1 14-inch MacBook. In the meantime, I'm looking to replace my Dell 24" 1920 x 1200 monitor that is almost 7 years old. I sit in front of a screen for hours every day and my aging eyes need a screen that displays clear text, so I spent a lot of time researching my options.
Specifically, I wasn't looking for a 4K monitor, but I found this option in several test reports (MakeUseOf, Forbes, ZDNET, Cult of Mac). I've never heard of this brand and Amazon doesn't have many reviews to give a user's perspective. I took the leap of faith because the features I was interested in had good reviews *and* INNOCN's pricing was very competitive. These days I use the screen as my main screen. Really satisfied so far.
what do I want:
• Beautiful colors and bright screen.
• Thin frames on the top and sides.
• Screen real estate is perfect: a big improvement over the 24-inch screen, but not by much.
• Ergonomics - height, swivel and tilt adjustment. What surprises me is that not all observers are able to do this, but this is not the case.
• Wide range of ports, including HDMI, Displayport, USB-A, and USB-C to also charge my MacBook
• The power supply is not integrated. I think this is a positive because if it gets damaged, it can be replaced regardless of the screen.
• Text quality is very good, 2560×1440. I need to use the analogy because 4K on a 27″ monitor makes everything too small (this is a Mac display issue, not a monitor issue).
What I don't like:
• Huge controls. The navigation menu is not very intuitive. I usually set it and forget it, but if you want to upgrade from Standard to Adobe sRBG or use the PIP function, you need to go to the controls.
• I also don't like the subtle on/off button. I turn the screen off instead of putting it to sleep, so this is important.
