Hoowel Smart Watch for Men and Women - Built-in Alexa Smartwatch with Heart Rate, Sleep Monitoring, Blood Oxygen, 24/7 Automatic Heart Rate Correction, Dynaudio Portable Speaker for Smart Watch
First of all, I use an Android phone and want to use the watch primarily as a fitness tracker. So it works pretty well, but I've never used it to answer calls or texts, so I can't comment on that feature.
To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for this smartwatch; Given the price, I thought it would be unstable and not as strong as promised in the product listing. Well, I was surprised by this watch: not only does it resemble a high-end smartwatch in appearance and build quality, but it also records much more readings than I expected. I predict heart rate and step count, but it also tracks blood oxygen and sleep quality. I didn't have any issues with tracking. Like other fitness trackers I've used (like FitBits), it seems accurate and the readings come back quickly and frequently.
I don't know what OS it uses (it doesn't look like Wear OS), but its design is well thought out: you get the same features as a mobile OS, such as: for example, swiping the screen to view notifications. Move across the screen by swiping left, right and more. When it comes to mobile integration, I don't like that you have to download what I think is a random app called VeryFit to use it, but the app is well designed and easy to navigate.
As for the hardware: Battery life is very good, and I can easily use it for five to seven days without charging, with the trackers fully activated. The belt is comfortable and breathable; I've never had an issue with sweat rashes like I have with other fitness trackers. The watch itself is large enough to read without being bulky, and as I mentioned before, the build quality seems good.
Reasons for ranking the stars from most important to least important:
1) The application provides visualizations of various derived metrics such as stress and calories burned. However, I'm not sure how to create these metrics. I'd like to see instructions on how to use the metrics you collect directly to create these derived metrics, but I can't find them anywhere.
2) The charging cable is very short about 4 inches. I always wanted a longer device so I could plug it into a power strip under the table and place it on top, but now I leave it on the floor next to the bar while it charges.
3) I would like a physical manual for the watch that lists the features, but I can only find it in the app.
4) It seems a bit strange to me that a seemingly universal smartwatch app includes comprehensive documentation for my specific watch; I'm wondering what the difference is between VeryFit and many cheap watches coming to the market. What link? I wish there was a better explanation for this.
5) I wish the watch could be used as a virtual fitness device without the need for a third-party app. I'm pretty sure Android supports world clock.
