Acer Nitro 31.5-inch FHD 1920 x 1080 1500R Curved Computer Gaming Monitor | AMD FreeSync Premium | Refresh rate up to 165 Hz | 1 ms VRB | VESA mountable | HDR10 | 1 DisplayPort 1.2 and 2 HDMI 1.4 | EDA320Q Pbiipx
I've been buying and comparing features and quality of gaming monitors for about 6 months - I want: 27" to 32", curved, 4K and high refresh rate - there are very few monitors that can compare with these specs and sizes - as soon as I'm panel type ( IPS, VA, TN), free sync, etc. figured out. I know what to look for and how much to price -
My favorite monitors from Amazon are: A few MSI models like Acer, Scepter, and BenQ - since this is my first new flagship gaming monitor, refresh rate is important - as is quality and resolution - then price - here's what I found: Many similar features - And different prices - from well-known brands
I decided against 4K because at a nominal refresh rate of 60Hz, any faster refresh rate would be too expensive - so I chose 2K and 144Hz - and after carefully considering the space and proximity available to me, the 27-inch device was in question as being very good (huge in reality) - so I narrowed it down to Acer, Scepter and MSI (specs and price) -
After reading the reviews, all three devices get 4-star ratings from hundreds of buyers - MSI model doesn't sell on Amazon Prime, takes over a week to arrive, and is very expensive (RGB and other models) - Scepter vs Acer is actually $70 more and had the same specs - So I chose the Acer ED273 - Latest reviews said the Acer was a very good choice and agreed that this machine had the best features and best value for money - I was right! Out of the box, this is a great monitor that generally exceeded my expectations –
Here are some of the nice things: Build quality, excellent - Nice overall look: narrow bezels, slim design (no big notches), beautiful finishes, flat matte screen, straight curves, great graphics. Image Quality - The stand is heavy and has a metal base and reinforced columns and vertical supports (Vesa 100) -
My only issue is the separate power port - but for the price I can live with it - the connector jacks are in the middle of the back and face down - making it difficult to find and connect the video and power ports - you can get this I also ordered an HDMI cable and a DP cable for each cable - I I tried my best but couldn't find any information about cable length (my desktop configuration required a longer cable, at least 6 inches), and that's what I got. No longer cable was requested, and I waited. I wanted to see if the included cables would work - they didn't - they were about 4" long - which was a bit short for me - so I used the 6" HDMI cable I had until I got a 6" DP cable. I received an order from Prime (about $10) - via HDMI, the max refresh rate is 120Hz - with the DP cable I'm currently using, the refresh rate is exactly 144Hz
