Fitbit announces Charge 6 with Google Smarts

Fitbit announced the Charge 6 fitness tracker a week before Google unveiled the next-generation Pixel Watch. The launch of the health-focused wearable coincides with a redesign of the Fitbit app.

The band is described as the only fitness tracker with Google Smarts. The Fitbit Charge 6 is the successor to the Charge 5 released in 2021.

The company indicates that it designed the Charge 6 watch to be very thin and discreet, unlike the clear screens of smart watches. Fitbit also brought back the side buttons for interacting with the interface. Like all sports wearables, the Charge 6 is water-resistant to 50 metres.

The Charge 6 has a small 1.04-inch display made of Gorilla Glass, aluminum, and resin. As for the sensors, the Charge 6 is equipped with a heart rate monitor, accelerometer, SpO2 monitoring sensor, and temperature sensor.

There's NFC for using Google Wallet as well as GPS and GLONASS for Google Maps. The Charge 6 also provides EKG readings to monitor your heart health, look for irregular rhythms and electrical activity, and measures stress by detecting changes in the amount of sweat your skin produces.

If you own Peloton or NordicTrack fitness equipment, you can use the Charge 6 to sync your heart rate information during a workout. The company claims that the Charge 6 provides 60% more accurate readings than the Charge 5 wristband during vigorous activity.

In addition to the Fitbit app, you need a Google Account to use the Charge 6. The Charge 6 is compatible with Android and iPhone users.

The Charge 6 integrates Google Maps and Google Wallet, so you can get directions using the tracker right on your wrist or pay with the Charge 6 via Google Wallet. You can also control YouTube Music to play directly from the Charge 6.

The claimed battery life is up to seven days as long as you don't use a large number of sensors. However, the company's app recommends tracking your stats to make the most of the fitness band's features and charging the device regularly. He ordered it.

The Charge 6 is now available for initial order for $160, and is available in a variety of colors, including white and orange, as well as several new bands.
